Love One Together

Five partnerships. One shared mission.

When people hear “growth,” they usually picture something visible… a new building, a bigger team, a fundraising milestone hit. Growth, for us, means more children in crisis gaining access to the life-saving care they need.

From day one, Love One’s team has traveled into rural villages, partner hospitals, and family homes to care for children in crisis. That hands-on presence remains central to who we are. Today, by equipping local partners across Uganda, we are removing the barrier of distance so more families can receive the immediate, life-saving care their children need.

The Love One Together (LOT) Partnership

Through the LOT Program, Love One has gathered five organizations throughout Uganda that we call Community-Based Organizations to help further our mission:

Community Malnutrition Screening

Local health workers, already known and trusted in their communities, screen children for malnutrition in households, churches, markets – wherever children are – using the same standards our Love One team uses.

Hospital-Based Stabilization

When a child needs emergency care, Community-Based Organization caseworkers walk alongside the family through the hospital stay, making sure every child receives continuous care, love, and guidance throughout their recovery.

Home-Based Nutrition Rehabilitation

For children who are malnourished but not yet in crisis, Community-Based Organization health workers deliver nutritional food, coach and educate their caregivers, and monitor their recovery close to home, which dramatically reduces the chances of a child relapsing.

None of this replaces our Center or our own team’s work, it just extends our reach into places even further out into the country.

Because of the LOT Program, here is Love One’s Impact in one month

Malnutrition Screening: A total of 6,441 children were screened. Our LOT partners screened 4,390 children – nearly doubling the 2,051 screenings conducted by our direct team.

Emergency Hospital Stabilization: 215 children received critical stabilization care, with 137 supported directly by Love One and 78 cared for through partner-supported initiatives.

Home-Based Nutrition Rehabilitation: 1,792 children are currently in recovery close to home, including 1,005 supported by Love One and 787 receiving food, follow-up, and education through LOT.

Caregiver Education: 5,236 caregivers participated in health and nutrition training this month, with 3,387 attending partner-led sessions and 1,849 trained by Love One.

We have every reason to celebrate these milestones, which simply would not have been possible without our Love One Together partners.

Why This Matters

The simple truth is, malnutrition doesn’t wait for anyone, including our team, to arrive. So, every trained Community-Based Organization worker is one more person who can find a child early, before a treatable condition becomes a crisis.

We believe this represents the truest form of growth. Growth that lives in training curriculums, routine supervision visits, and community health workers doing the unseen, steady work across five communities that we would otherwise not have been able to reach.

We’re proud of the Love One Together Program because it reflects something we believe deeply: sustainable change doesn’t come from Love One trying to do everything on our own. It comes from local ownership, knowledge, and relationships that equip families with the care they need.

Thank you for being part of what makes this growth possible. It doesn’t show up in a photo the way a new building would, but in the thousands of children being found, screened, and cared for who might otherwise have been missed.
