RECEIVE. REHABILITATE. RESETTLE.

IN UGANDA, 911 DOESN’T EXIST.

When someone needs emergency medical attention in the United States, help is just a phone call away. In remote regions of Uganda, there is no such thing as 911. When children in these communities become critically ill, their parents feel desperate.
This is where Love One steps in.

What We Do

RECEIVE

Love One receives cases of malnourished children in critical condition. We coordinate access to emergency healthcare at the local hospital to meet their immediate medical needs.

REHABILITATE

Following discharge from the hospital, children are transferred to the Love One Center where they receive extensive rehabilitative services from our staff of pediatricians, nutritionists, therapists and caretakers who ensure that they make a complete recovery.

RESETTLE

Healthy children are resettled at home with their families. Love One offers ongoing support through both spiritual programs and community education on health, nutrition and hygiene.

Meet Blessing

Blessing weighed just 4.6 pounds at seven months old. Born to a teenage mother navigating significant challenges, she did not receive the consistent nourishment her growing body needed in those early months. Changes in feeding and financial strain contributed to severe malnutrition, and she was referred for medical care. Blessing was first admitted to a nearby hospital for stabilization before transitioning to our Center for continued nutritional rehabilitation. There, she received structured feeding, close medical monitoring, and ongoing support to help restore her strength. Over time, Blessing made steady progress. She gained weight, began meeting developmental milestones, and grew stronger each week. Today, she is back home with her mother, thriving in her community and reaching new milestones each day.
